Monique Washington is a multi-talented Motivational Speaker, Author and Journalist. Her college and life experiences have led her to have a passion for the betterment of people. They call her the ‘Team Building Expert.’
This Renaissance Woman truly believes, "Giving back is not only a good gesture, it’s necessary." She is on a mission to reach people from the inside out. "It’s an inside job, when working on self-improvement." Her book Who's Your God? focuses on the value we all have within. She was an 8th grade Math Teacher and now she’s on a bigger platform reaching children and adults worldwide through her Speaking and Team Building Program.
Monique is a freelance Writer. Her Articles have been featured in Newspaper Publications and Magazines Nationwide. Monique works with Professional Athletes at their Camps as a Speaker or Coach. For the past three years she’s been a Guest Speaker and Coach at the Hoop Farm Basketball Camp held at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). The camp is lead by Jordan Farmar the former NBA Los Angeles Laker Champion who’s now a New Jersey Net. He was impressed by her work ethic and level of professionalism. Washington engaged the 160 campers, their parents and the Hoop Farm Staff with her dynamic presentation and coaching. Jordan said, "She did a great job of breaking down complex ideas so that campers could relate to her message. That takes real talent."
A graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno - Monique has a B.A. in Speech Communication and Journalism. In high school she was recruited by several universities to play college basketball, including Pepperdine University, University of Hawaii, University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), University of California Irvine (UCI), University of Pacific (UOP), Ivy League member Columbia University, Cornell University and the school of her choice, Nevada-Reno.
In college she was a student-athlete who played four years on the Women’s basketball team. Monique was focused as a student first and an athlete second. She kept the end in mind while a Freshman, to graduate in four years. If being a student-athlete wasn’t enough on her plate while in college; during her last Semester of school she was nominated to run as Homecoming Queen. Washington made history, as the first non-Caucasian in 123 years at UNR to be named Homecoming Queen. It was a historic moment. She was featured in Ebony Magazine for the achievement.
Her Team Building Program is genius in helping ignite the sleeping giant we all have within. She is the Team Building Expert. Monique will continue inspiring and motivating individuals to be the very best they can be!
